ROADMAP
Day 1 - Jan 08 - Friday: Arrival in Punta Arenas, CHL
Arrival day in the most important city in southern Chile — a city with a strong port trade and a duty-free zone for some shopping. With several flights from Santiago (the capital), getting here is easy and accessible. Tonight, the welcome gathering. Welcome to Patagonia!
Day 2 - Jan 09 - Saturday: Punta Arenas, CHL >> Ushuaia, ARG | 645 km
Let’s start by heading to the southernmost point on the planet! Today we cross the Strait of Magellan with a short, quick ferry ride to reach Tierra del Fuego. The long road is defined by untouched nature, vast open fields and landscapes unlike anything we are used to in Brazil. Expect temperatures around 10 °C here. We arrive in the late afternoon, happy and eager to take the traditional photo at the city entrance sign. You are in Ushuaia!
Day 3 - Jan 10 - Sunday: Ushuaia, ARG — free day
After a long day, we have a free day to enjoy the attractions of this pleasant city. Our suggestion is a morning boat trip to see penguins and sea lions. We also have a schedule of very interesting options for the afternoon.
Day 4 - Jan 11 - Monday: Ushuaia, ARG >> Cerro Sombrero, CHL | 450 km
Before leaving the city, we spend the morning visiting a few more spots at the “end of the world”. Ushuaia — check! Now we ride north! After a few hours on the road, we reach Cerro Sombrero, Chile, before crossing the Strait of Magellan. The goal today is to make the most of Ushuaia and treat this as a simple overnight rest stop.
Day 5 - Jan 12 - Tuesday: Cerro Sombrero, CHL >> El Calafate, ARG | 470 km
Westward bound! We ride out to meet the famous Ruta 40 and on to one of the most important cities in southern Patagonia, El Calafate. This region is quite inhospitable and windy but, for us Brazilians, it is always a new experience — and the road offers unique scenery. In El Calafate we stay at a hotel right in the center, perfect for enjoying the charming downtown.
Day 6 - Jan 13 - Wednesday: El Calafate, ARG — free day
Today we wake up early to enjoy the most famous sight in this region: the Perito Moreno Glacier. An incredible place that will stay in your memory. The motorcycle ride takes about 3 hours. If you prefer, you can visit glaciers and enjoy several other attractions throughout the day.
Day 7 - Jan 14 - Thursday: El Calafate, ARG >> Cerro Castillo, CHL | 297 km
Time to return to Chile. We head south to the town of Cerro Castillo. This simple “village” is very close to Torres del Paine National Park, considered by specialist travel publications — and by everyone who has been there — one of the most beautiful places in the world. We will have a few hours in the afternoon to explore this stunning region by motorcycle!
Day 8 - Jan 15 - Friday: Cerro Castillo, CHL >> Los Andes, CHL | 230 km
An early start to explore this paradise on Earth with plenty of time. We ride through the park by motorcycle or, for those who prefer, venture out on walks, glacier visits and more. A beautiful day that will fill up your phone’s memory card. In the late afternoon we head to a charming hotel for dinner and a refreshing night’s sleep.
Day 9 - Jan 16 - Saturday: Los Andes, CHL >> Punta Arenas, CHL | 216 km
After an intense week, today we wake up without any rush — enjoy the wonderful views, a heated pool, or simply relax. After lunch, we set off on our last riding day back to the city where it all began.
Day 10 - Jan 17 - Sunday: Punta Arenas, CHL
Time to head home (or extend your trip)! Consider this an open invitation to discover other stunning regions of our continent with ROX!
