Motorcycle Tour of the Adriatic
A motorcycle tour of the Adriatic crosses seven countries in a single journey: you leave Bavaria, ride the Grossglockner in the Austrian Alps and drop to the sea through Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro and Italy. Over 13 days and roughly 2,500 km, the ROXMOTORS route combines mountain passes, Adriatic islands and preserved medieval cities — with free days in Hvar and Dubrovnik to catch your breath.
The Mediterranean from its less obvious side
This is one of the ROXMOTORS flagships, and for good reason: it is 100% tarmac, easy-going in difficulty, and still delivers one of the most varied runs of scenery in Europe. In two weeks you go from snow at the top of the Grossglockner to the beaches of Hvar, by way of the Plitvice waterfalls, the bridge at Mostar and Bosnian coffee in Sarajevo. It is a route for riders who want good roads without giving up culture, food and time to rest.
What you will see on the Adriatic
- Grossglockner High Alpine Road — 48 km and 36 hairpins to the foot of Austria’s highest mountain, with lunch at the top and snow along the roadside;
- Lake Bled and Ljubljana — the emerald lake with its islet and castle, and the Slovenian capital with its cafés along the Ljubljanica river;
- Plitvice Lakes National Park — a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with 16 lakes linked by waterfalls and a night inside the park;
- Island of Hvar — 100 km of coastal roads on the island, a free day with a private boat tour of the Pakleni archipelago and white wine at sunset;
- Dubrovnik — the Pearl of the Adriatic, a walled UNESCO World Heritage city, with a cable car and a free day for Montenegro and the Bay of Kotor;
- Mostar and Sarajevo — the historic bridge over the Neretva and the Baščaršija quarter, where Bosnia introduces itself through its food.

Getting ready
Most visitors need only a passport valid for at least six months to enter the Schengen Area for stays of up to 90 days — check the rules for your nationality. Note that Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro sit outside the Schengen Area, and there are border checks on those crossings. An International Driving Permit is recommended, and the mandatory travel insurance is already included in the package. About a month before departure we open a WhatsApp group with the road book, packing tips, paperwork and currency guidance.
