DAY 1 - 12/09 - Antofagasta, CHL
Arrival day! Antofagasta is the starting point of our adventure! A great option on the Pacific coast, as it has frequent flights from Santiago. On this day, we’ll have the transfer and our welcome dinner!
DAY 2 - 13/09 - Antofagasta > San Pedro de Atacama | 320 KM
Let’s hit the road toward our much-anticipated destination, San Pedro de Atacama! On the way, we’ll pass through the city of Calama for a coffee break before heading to San Pedro. We’ll stay in a great hotel near the center, perfect for enjoying the lively “Calle Caracoles.” Arriving in the city is exciting with so many attractions in sight!
DAY 3 - 14/09 - San Pedro de Atacama, CHL - free day
After our first night in this charming town, we’ll use this first riding day to explore the Altiplanic Lagoons, the Valley of the Moon, and many other amazing attractions in the area.
DAY 4 - 15/09 - San Pedro de Atacama, CHL - free day
We’ll wake up early to witness the El Tatio Geysers phenomenon. Huge steam and water columns burst through cracks in the Earth’s crust, reaching 85°C and heights of up to 10 meters. After visiting the hot springs, we’ll head to the village of Machuca, where traditions date back to the Inca times.
DAY 5 - 16/09 - San Pedro de Atacama, CHL > Humahuaca, ARG | 437 km
We enter Argentina through the renowned Paso de Jama, at over 4,000 meters altitude. Movie-like landscapes and perfect (and cold) roads as we cross the border to the small town of Humahuaca.
DAY 6 - 17/09 - Humahuaca, ARG > Tupiza, BOL | 296 km
We cross into another country—Bolivia. After navigating a “challenging” border, we’ll encounter stunning landscapes, mountains, and peaceful villages that feel frozen in time. Tupiza is a strategic city for continuing our journey to the Uyuni Salt Flats.
DAY 7 - 18/09 - Tupiza, BOL > Uyuni, BOL | 190 km
We ride to one of the most spectacular places on Earth—believe it! Touring the Bolivian high plateau guarantees breathtaking landscapes. We’ll arrive at Salar de Uyuni, just a few kilometers from the town of Uyuni, with a resounding “WOW, what a place!” We’ll stay in a salt hotel near the Salt Flats.
DAY 8 - 19/09 - Uyuni, BOL - free day
A day to enjoy this magnificent place! We’ll book a special excursion to explore and capture the moments in a unique way!
DAY 9 - 20/09 - Uyuni, BOL > Antofagasta, CHL | 642 km
Back on the road, we’ll take a different (off-road) route to the Chilean border and continue to Antofagasta. A long day, but full of Bolivia’s essence—unmatched visuals. A well-deserved farewell dinner awaits us!
DAY 10 - 21/09 - Antofagasta, CHL
Time to head home. We’ve covered in 10 days what would normally take about 20 days starting from Brazil. Transfer day! We’re already missing it!
ABOUT THE ATACAMA DESERT AND THE SALAR DE UYUNI
Two of the most stunning natural wonders in the world are in South America—and you’ll explore them by motorcycle with ROX!
The Atacama is the driest desert on Earth. But contrary to what many might think, its landscapes go far beyond sand dunes. You’ll find magical scenery shaped by blue lagoons, snow-capped volcanoes, geysers, and exotic flora and fauna.
And let’s not forget the unique town of San Pedro de Atacama. This small village, located at 2,800 meters above sea level, is the starting point for tours in the region. Its rustic buildings and dirt roads give it a dusty charm, but you’ll still find cozy hotels, top-notch restaurants, and great bars.
Then there’s the Salar de Uyuni—the largest salt flat on the planet. A legacy of prehistoric lakes that dried up, this vast desert spans nearly 11,000 km² and looks like an endless white sea stretching beyond the horizon.
Along the journey from San Pedro de Atacama to Uyuni, you’ll witness landscapes so diverse and surreal, it’s hard to believe they truly exist.
